People ask me what’s the hardest thing
I’ve ever done. I think they’d assume that
it was winning gold medals. That’s not true. The hardest thing I’ve ever
done is starting this business and growing it. At Michael Johnson
Performance, we train the top
athletes in the world, whether it’s
professional footballers or Olympic sprinters, baseball,
basketball, you name it. We’re fanatical about data. At the elite level, it’s all
about hundredths, sometimes even thousandths of a second. That’s what you’re dealing with. But it’s not about just
elite athletes for us. It’s about all athletes. Ironically, in our own
backyard, youth athletes and their parents,
they don’t know who we are and don’t understand
what performance training is and how it can help them. Right now, we’re

Michael Johnson Performance is going to pop up. They want to perform better. And we’re showing them how we’re
going to help them do that. What AdWords does is
it allows us to know exactly who we’re reaching. We’re not paying for people
who aren’t potential customers, but we’re paying for
people who are actually interested in what we do. And that’s extremely
valuable for us. Our goal is no
different now than it was when we first started. It’s to help every athlete,
regardless of sport, regardless of age, regardless
of gender, help them reach their full potential.
